XOD Sails

XOD Mainsail

The three code 2s are all-round sails with a wide range of adjustment. each is designed to suit a different mast bend. if we do not already have details of your mast in our extensive data base then we will carry out a static bend test to determine the right sail for your rig.
Mainsail sailcloth is Contender 5.52 polykote in cross cut panels, Dimension-Polyant 253 htp square in the head radials.

XOD Jib 2J

The code 2j foresail has the same seam shape as the code 2c and is just as powerful but the entry has been filled out and this makes the sail easy to use in open water. The leech profile has also been changed to ensure that the sail gives full power when the upper leech is opened in chop. Foresail sailcloth Contender 5.52 Polykote.

XOD Jib 2C

The code 2c foresail is best suited to flat water. It has a slightly finer entry than the alternative code 2j. The code 2c is a big, powerful sail with substantial shape built into the seams and this enables the leech to be opened in stronger winds without losing pointing or speed.

XOD Spinnaker

This sail was developed in 2006 with the help of Stuart and Mark Jardine and has proved to be an outstanding success. The aim was to produce a more powerful sail and this has been achieved in spectacular fashion. The radial head is cut to give the sail big shoulders which are fast when running; on a reach the halyard should be eased 6” to open the slot with the mainsail and to ensure that the sail does not foul the jumpers.
Spinnaker sailcloth is Contender 0.75oz Dynakote.
